Wise Toddler Part 3
On Neediness
“I need help”
“Help, please”
I am fed up by her neediness at times but then it gives me pause— she is in the right and I am in the wrong, I have not called upon my Lord in utter neediness often enough.
Christ, have mercy!
Ardagh
Bejeweled chalice, recompense
for cowslips
between
my teeth,
the shorn sheep bleating
winter lamb bleeding—
sunned
silver-spun stargazing
lustre transmutes
in lutes,
in aloe dew
musked rue
herb of grace
mulled waves
lick tips
sips
***
Anacrusia
Pushing against
The upward beat
Raising the rose
In mutual surrender.
*
Flared, then flaming,
Toasted timbers
Caramelizing
The seasoned staves
With luminous grace,
Beseechingly
*
Affettuoso, ma non tropo
Enter the room of friendship,
It is here that lovers dwell,
It is here all shall be made well!

1.the single soul
in a vision
sees all the world
like houses, asleep…
2.balm in a cloud
“behold I am doing a new thing”
she is kept
in sacred astonishment
croonings, rumblings,
fresh, gentle spring
flowing from the
burn eternally
3. she needed a closeness, a belonging
bringing twain
a longing
opened WIDE to catch all the stars
breaking bonds
within her, like the wild rivers
of her inner world—
the sun awoke her with
gladness
and the burn embraced
hand in hand
like a flame
pleasures
the air!
